Gilson
Road Cemetery, Nashua, NH
Photographer's comments: This photo was taken on a chilly, moonless
November night. It is one of two photos with this purple streak, in an
otherwise unremarkable roll of film. I was at the cemetery with
five others from Hollow Hill, including one other photographer, investigating the
"haunted" reputation of the site.
I
did not see the purple streak when I took this picture, but I did sense that I'd
caught something odd. I can recall saying, "Whoa! What was
that?" when I took it.
At
least half the time when I took photographs at Gilson Road that night, I saw
flashes like the residual sparkles
of fireworks. I saw these through my
viewfinder when I took each picture, and for a split second afterwards.
Gilson
Road Cemetery is a small rural cemetery near Hollis, New Hampshire.
When this picture was taken, there were no streetlights visible within about a quarter mile.
Since then, a neighborhood of luxury homes was built across the street.
This cemetery is well-known for being "haunted." Local legend
claims that an Indian battle was fought here in early Colonial times.
There are also tales of a murder that took place in a home that was once within
the cemetery's stone walls, and the house was later burned to the ground. After that, the
property was turned into a cemetery. Out
of about 50 photos taken that night with two different point-and-shoot cameras,
at least 19 show some sort of anomaly, mostly very faint 'ghost orbs'. Photos #19
and #22, before and after the two photos with the purple streak, show no
anomalies at all.
