COPYRIGHT AND HOLLOW HILL
by Fiona Broome and the Hollow Hill staff
PHOTOGRAPHS
All of our photographs are original. They have never been legally published on
others' websites.* If
you see our pictures elsewhere, someone has stolen them. That is theft. You should immediately suspect that they're doing
other things that aren't honest, either.
Exceptions are clearly noted on each of our webpages. When we use others' photos, meet
their terms of use, and often have their expressed permission. Credits generally appear at the foot of
the respective page.
Our "blue figure" is our photo that has been stolen most often. If you see this picture at another website, please
let us know about it.

Ghosts of Fort Worden.)
ARTICLES AND REPORTS
All of our articles and reports are original, unless noted as "press release" or with the author's name at the
byline.
Most of our original articles have never been legally
published on others' websites, either. The exceptions are articles originally written for Suite101.com, and
articles that appear at our sister sites, including Living With Ghosts
and Ghosts101.com (currently under construction).
TO REQUEST PERMISSION
To use one of our photos or articles in your work, online or off,
in a forum or at your website, please contact us.
COPYRIGHT ENFORCEMENT
We use the services of Copyscape.com to detect plagiarists and thieves who steal our articles and reports. Our readers
often inform us when someone else has stolen our photos.
When we find that someone is using our work illegally, we contact them directly. If they do not remove the
work, we contact their hosting service. So far, over two dozen complete websites have been removed for copying our
site.
Many hosting services assume that a single copyright violation indicates others at the same
website. Sites such as Angelfire, GeoCities, Tripod, and Fortune City will remove your site without warning
if they find copyright violations among your webpages.
It is not okay to "borrow" our photos or stories and link to us. We appreciate the intent, but
it is still a violation of copyright laws.
If you have "borrowed" anything from our website, please remove it from your site immediately. If you see another site
that is using our photographs, stories, articles, or reports, please let us know.
Thank you.
* One independent recording company has used our What is this...?
photo for an album cover. That is our only photo that is authorized to appear on another website, and its use is
restricted to that one album and that one website.
